¶ Diamond In The Rough
¶ Walkthrough
To begin this quest you first must have completed Greener Pastures.
After saying goodbye to Amhak and Amansi, you can speak to Nepthys and pick up this quest. She needs you to journey to a temple related to the Demigoddess Q'Tesh and retrieve a ritual vessel from within. You are prompted to "travel to the Tomb of Q'Tesh. Go there. Go on, git.
When you reach the location of the tomb, you'll find a spoted Felian named Esi standing outside. Speak with her. Tis importante. By speaking to Esi and asking about the tomb, the guardian and the void, you will eventually pick up the quest Tales of the Void, which you should complete before entering the Tomb of Q'Tesh. So, go do that now, and come back after it's completed.
Once you have the Shattered Void Khopesh, return to the tomb and enter the Tomb of the Ascended, prepared to defeat the Guardian.
Don't need to use the shiny new Khopesh just yet, unless you want to, but you have a long, winding tunnel filled with Cursed Ones and undead. So take your time, try not to lose a bunch of health and burn through your potions before the big boss fight coming up.
- Note 1: You may feel like you reach a dead end at on point, where the lootable corpse is. There was a left turn before getting to the corpse you missed. Crouch (ctrl) and move through the low opening before continuing on your path.
- Note 2: There are some traps after you pass the point you have to duck to continue, watch the ground for them.
- Note 3: There is a corpse you can loot just before entering the final chamber with the Guardian. Loot him for the [Gate Key]
Boss fight toim. The Guardian can only be damaged by the Shattered Void Kopesh. No shenanigans like in the days of old. Even sorcery doesn't hurt him. It's a game of cat and mouse basically. Very Soulslike fight. Stay near him, roll out of the way of his attacks and get your swings in inbetween. Good luck, Vessel.
Once you defeat the boss, remember that guy you looted for the Gate Key? There is a hallway to the left of his body. It's hard to notice in the dark, but it takes you on a turn and toward a gate you'll need that key to open. Unlock the gate and go outside. You're free at last!
Return to Nepthys.
You turn in the Essence of Q'Tesh (or more likely one of Q'Tesh's Daughters), and are given the chance to ask for a reward. At time of writing, it doesn't appear you're able to sleep with Nepthys despite the dialogue implies it, though you complete Diamond in the Rough and the temple Concubine becomes available for sex at night.
The quest is completed. One step closer to bringing back Anubis, eh? Nice.
